Truck Driver with Lower Back Pain

Client Profile

A client in his early 40s works as a truck driver and spends long hours sitting and driving every day. Because of the nature of his job, he often sits for 8–12 hours with limited movement.Over time he began to feel increasing tightness in his lower back and hips, especially after long driving shifts.

Main Complaints

The client mentioned several common issues:

  • Persistent lower back tightness
  • Stiff hips after long periods of sitting
  • Difficulty bending or stretching comfortably
  • Muscle fatigue at the end of the day

These symptoms are common for people who sit for extended periods with limited movement.

What We Focused On During the Session

During the massage session, the focus was mainly on the lower back, hips, and surrounding muscles. The session included:

  • Deep tissue work on the lower back muscles
  • Slow pressure along the hip and glute areas
  • Gentle stretching of the hip and lower back muscles

The goal was to reduce muscle tension and help improve flexibility in areas that become tight from long hours of sitting.

How the Client Felt After the Session

After the session, the client said his lower back felt looser and less tight. He also noticed that standing up and moving around felt more comfortable.

Recommendations

For clients with similar work routines we usually suggest:

  • Taking short breaks to walk and stretch when possible
  • Doing light hip and lower back stretches daily
  • Maintaining good seat posture while driving
  • Getting regular massage sessions to help manage muscle tension
